At potage we're passionate about delivering delicious, freshly prepared meals in a sustainable way. Whatever we are doing, as a team we always work with the environment in mind.
1. Source seasonal, local ingredients whenever possible.
Whenever possible we do our best to buy seasonal, local produce to reduce the energy (and associated CO2 emissions) needed to grow and transport the food. If it's locally sourced it's also seasonal which means fresher, and therefore tends to be tastier and more nutritious.
2. Minimal packaging & no plastic.
We try to use as little packaging as possible, for example cutlery and napkins are only delivered on request. Our salad boxes are all fully compostable, made from plants not plastic. Our carrier bags are made from recycled paper and are also recyclable and compostable.
3. Zero food waste.
All our meals are made to order to minimise food waste. At the moment our food leftovers are almost zero so we can't even send them to a charity. If things were to change as we grow, we'll let you know which charity we donate them to.
