Christmas Gift Guide

These beautiful glass pantry jars from The White Company make the best gift and are great fun because you can customise them for each person. Available in two sizes (large £20, medium £18), the lid is hand carved from American white oak with an airtight rubber seal to keep what's inside fresh. If you have time, fill with something homemade like a nutty granola, alternatively keep it simple with some beautifully shaped pasta, porridge oats or raw unsalted nuts.

A handsome bottle with a twist, Gibson’s is a family run fruit farm and winery just outside Burford in the Cotswolds. They only use fruit and flowers that they've grown themselves to make their liqueurs and have won prestigious awards, from the Soil Association and the Guild of Fine Food respectively. Stock up on a Gibson's Organic Liqueurs mixed case, or buy individually. Our favourites are the Sloe Gin (35cl bottle £19.95) and Elderflower Liqueur (35cl bottle £15.95). The liqueurs are designed to taste great on their own but each product page also has creative suggestions for alternatives from adding a twist to many a cocktail, as well as a wide range of desserts and sauces. The liqueurs are all gluten free and vegan.

Call us crazy but there's something so satisfying about grinding a handful of oats. Fresh milled oats have all the natural oils still intact and this Campo Flaker is the simplest way to enter the world of fresh whole grain. The Flaker is easy to use - children love to turn the handle to make oat flakes – and just 30 seconds of flaking will provide you with a portion of fresh oats for your morning porridge or muesli. We use the Campo Flaker which sells for £139.95 online at Imbhams Farm Granary and you can also buy lots of different grains here too. They are an expensive gift but will last a lifetime and given to the right person be used daily.

A cheese board. Buchanan's is (in our opinion) the best cheesemonger in London. The deli is on Porchester Terrace, W2 and open Tuesday to Saturday 11am – 5pm. They sell a range of delicious British and European cheeses and the cheeses change daily based on what is ripe and tasting good in their onsite maturing rooms. For Christmas they have 4 cheese gift hampers from £40, £50, £60 and £80 (includes bottle of port).

Whether you want to do it with the person or not a tour of the Sipsmith distillery would make a brilliant gift. I did this with a friend a few years ago and can't recommend it enough. It's such fun seeing how the gin is made, meeting some of the team behind the brand and of course afterwards sampling the delicious gin. There are 2 price points; a 'Weeknight Tour' at £25 which includes a tour of the distillery and tutored tasting, and a 'Gin Palace Extravaganza' which at £75 includes the tour and tasting as well as a 3-course botanical gastronomica and complimentary 35cl bottle of London Dry Gin .

Naturally we have to include one of our gift vouchers in this list. It's a gift that always fits and won't be forgotten. They start at £50 and there's no expiry date.
